For the visually impaired

A workstation for the visually impaired (room 238, floor II) equipped with:

  • a computer with JAWS screen-reading software;
  • a BRUNO printed text reading machine with headphones and keyboard.

The service is available to registered visitors of the National Library or to those registering through VRSS software on-site. During quarantine, ask for single-use headphones at the Registration and Information Desk.

Printing documents in Braille

The blind and visually impaired can print documents using a Braille printer as well as laminate and bind documents. These services are free of charge and can be ordered at the Registration and Information Desk or by writing to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. We recommend ordering publications in advance via the portal ibiblioteka.lt and selecting the required date. Information specialists can provide assistance in finding books in the open collection.

Tactile paths and stair markings are there to help the visually impaired find their way around the library. If you have questions or need assistance, please ask the employees at the Registration and Information Desk.
