The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania is located at the end of Gediminas Avenue in the centre of Vilnius, next to the Seimas (Parliament) and Žvėrynas Bridge. The library is well connected to pedestrian and cycle paths via Gediminas Avenue, and there are parking spots on Gynėjų and A. Tumėnas Streets for those arriving by car.
There are three entrances to the National Library: the main entrance on the side of Gediminas Avenue, and two wheelchair accessible entrances, one on the side of Gynėjų Street and the other on the side of the Seimas, through the door of the Children‘s and Youth Literature Department.
By car
The nearest parking spaces are on Gynėjų Street. There is a parking lot on the corner of A. Tumėnas and A. Goštautas Street, behind the Seimas Palace.
By bike
The library is accessible via the bike lane on Gediminas Avenue. The library can also be reached by a separate cycle path along A. Goštautas Street by the Neris River, or by taking the cycle path on the other side of the river and turning down A. Mickevičius Street over the Žvėrynas Bridge.
Public transport
The nearest public transport stops are Nepriklausomybės aikštė and A. Tumėnas bus stops. Buses 56 and 123 run to Nepriklausomybės aikštė. Bus 89 goes to A. Tumėnas bus stop.
From Vilnius International Airport, the National Library can be reached by taking the 3G bus from the Oro uosto (Airport) bus stop to the Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas bus stop and walking the rest of the way along Gediminas Avenue.
Taxi
Taxis can take library visitors to the parking spaces on Gynėjų Street.
