Please submit your application at least 3 working days before the planned photography session and/or filming. ATTENTION! Political advertisements, other activities related to political campaigns, weddings, presentations of clothing collections and accessories and other entertainment activities are not allowed to be photographed and/or filmed in the National Library.
Application is required for:
- natural persons and/or legal entities wishing to take photographs and/or videos on the premises of the National Library, as well as on the exterior steps of the National Library for commercial, advertising, marketing, image-building, films and TV series and other non-personal purposes.
- natural and/or legal persons wishing to take photographs and/or videos on the premises of the National Library, with professional equipment or a professional team of photographers or other team, for personal purposes (personal, family, student work or similar professional photo shoots*).
No application is necessary for:
- natural and/or legal persons (media representatives, photographers, etc.) wishing to photograph and/or film open events taking place at the National Library.
- natural and/or legal persons (media representatives, photographers, etc.) wishing to photograph and/or film closed events taking place at the National Library (at the request of the organisers or with their consent)
- natural and/or legal persons (photographers, media representatives, etc.) wishing to photograph and/or film staff of the National Library for publicity purposes as interviewees. - individuals who wish to take photographs and/or videos on the main outdoor steps of the National Library** for personal purposes (family, wedding photos, etc.)
- media representatives (except show producers) wishing to film and/or take photographs on the premises of the National Library, at the main entrance of the National Library, and/or on the main outdoor staircase of the National Library, as well as at the service entrance of the National Library. In this case, media representatives must make a request to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. on working days, at least 24 hours before the start of the filming or photography, and receive confirmation that they are available for filming and/or photography. The National Library reserves the right to refuse, by decision of the members of the administration, to allow photography and/or filming in the premises of the National Library when the purpose of the photography and/or filming is in conflict with the mission, vision, strategic goals or activities of the National Library, violates the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, the honour and dignity of individuals, contradicts morality and public order, incites discord and hatred against any national, racial, ethnical, religious, or other group of people.
- tourists and other visitors to the National Library taking selfies with mobile devices, photographing and/or filming the interior with mobile devices.

** Photography and filming must not disturb Library users or restrict their movement.
