The open collection available in the reading rooms is freely accessible to visitors, and publications do not need to be ordered via the library’s information system.
To order publications from the closed collections of the National Library, you must have a reader’s card and be a registered user of the National Library.
Publications from the library’s collection can be browsed and ordered via the online service portal ibiblioteka.lt.
The documents from the National Archive Collection of Published Documents can be ordered in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Reading Room. You can find information on how to order publications here.
Please note that orders for documents (books, films or other items) are not accepted one hour before the library closes. Opening hours: September–June, July–August.
You may have to wait up to 1 hour to receive a publication you have ordered. Publications from the library collections are issued at the registration and information desk on the second floor of the National Library.
We recommend ordering the publications you need in advance online, which will allow you to select the date of issue. Please pick up your books on the day of issue prior to the closing of the National Library.
