On February 25–27, Director General of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania Prof. Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas participated in the celebration of the inauguration of the renovated building of the National Library of Finland. The quests of the event had an opportunity to visit historical premises and to get acquainted with the activities and functions of the library.
The Director General also had a meeting with the Director of the National Library of Finland, the Chair of the Conference of Directors of national Libraries (CDNL) Kai Ekholm. They discussed further cooperation of the two national libraries and the prospects of development of the organization of the libraries in the Baltic Sea AreaBibliotheca Baltica. As the National Library of Lithuania also approaches the end of the building renovation, the heads of the two libraries shared the problems that emerged during the building renovation processes in both libraries.
