The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania and the Embassy of Spain invites you to the Spanish Cinema Club screening and discussion. This time we‘ll be watching a dramedy by the renowned Spanish director Gracia Querejeta “Seven Billiard Tables” (Siete Mesas de Billar Francés, 2007, Spain), about how it’s never too late to make changes in life and pursue different ways to happiness.

The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania has published a book in Ukrainian ­– a methodology that presents guidelines for bibliotherapeutic activities in libraries. The book is a translation into Ukrainian of the book “Bibliotherapy Methodology” (Biblioterapijos metodika) by Dr. Daiva Janavičienė, a methodologist-researcher at the National Library, published by the National Library in 2020.

Savanorių Avenue curves through the southwest part of Vilnius and eventually crosses the city border. How many locals or visitors have heard this name but have never felt the need to stop, look around, and explore what the facades of buildings and beliefs conceal?

On 28 May at 17:00 we invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Jūra – Yura” by the contemporary Japanese photographer Kodo Chijiiwa (born in 1976, Japan) at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania.

Are your English skills „rusty“? Would you like to improve them? Come to the English Discussion Club, which takes place twice a month in the American Space (2^nd floor) at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania.

The #mES20 exhibition, marking the 20th anniversary of Lithuania’s accession to the European Union, tells the story of the long and difficult path Lithuania has taken since regaining independence and integrating into the European Community.

As part of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Lithuania’s accession to the EU, the Embassy of Ireland in Vilnius is hosting a special performance of Irish dancing and music with Lenka Fairy and supporting musicians.

Artists, researchers and exhibition curators are invited to submit proposals for exhibitions to be held in the exhibition spaces of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania as part of the 2025 Programme. Please send the completed application form with attached examples of works and active links in PDF format (maximum size 10 MB) by 26 May at 00:00.

On April 15, Aušrinė Žilinskienė became Director General of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania. Mrs. Žilinskienė was selected to lead the National Library after winning a Ministry of Culture competition in November of last year. She is the first female director general in the National Library's 105-year history.

The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania and the Embasy of Spain would like to invite you to our Spanish Cinema Club + discussion afterwards. We will be watching the Spanish cinema classic, Todos a la cárcel by Luis García Berlanga. The film will be in Spanish with English subtitles.
