She graduated in Philology from Vilnius University in 1984; in 1992/93, studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (the Jewish Education in the Diaspora Programme); and in 1997, did internship at the Oxford Centre for Jewish and Hebrew Studies. In 2000, she defended the dissertation “Rabbinic exegesis in the context of the traditional Jewish education in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania” and obtained a doctorate degree in Humanities.   

Her research work focuses on the European and Lithuanian Jewish history and related published and manuscript documents. In her research, she mainly applies historical methods.

Her main current research is on the manuscript portion of the Judaica Collection at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania (identification, defining of proveniences and promotion by organising exhibitions and other events). The objective of the research is the reconstruction of phenomena and tendencies of the cultural and social life of Lithuanian Jews.
