Self-study material for non-native speakers learning Lithuanian
Lithuanian is one of the oldest living Indo-European languages in the world. It has preserved archaic grammatical forms and a rich vocabulary that reflects the long history, worldview, and cultural experience of the Lithuanian people.
We have compiled a list of publications for independent study of the Lithuanian language. The material is adapted to different levels of foreign language learners, from beginners to advanced. The publications help develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, expand the vocabulary, and to better understand the structure and usage of the Lithuanian language in everyday situations.
All publications can be found at the National Library, on a specialised shelf in the Lithuanian Studies Reading Room (3rd floor, Room 335), and on the iBiblioteka.lt portal. We cordially invite you to visit and familiarise yourself with them.
