16 May: Sat Sandarbha. The presentation of philosophical treatise

You are kindly invited to the presentation of unique philosophical six-volume treatise – Ṣaṭ Sandarbha. The work is well known for its deep analysis and systematic elaboration of the entire theology and philosophy of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism. Furthermore, the translation and commentaries of Satyanarayana Dasa are based on superb understanding of Sanskrit, Indian logic, grammar, hermeneutics, and poetics.

All six Sandarbhas will be presented by its translator and commentator himself.

In 2013 Satyanarayana Dasa was honoured by the president of India, Pranab Mukherjee, for his extraordinary contribution in presenting Vedic culture and philosophy, both nationally and internationally. He studied the formal systems of Indian philosophy known as ṣaḍ-darśana, earned four śāstric degrees, and received a law degree and a PhD in Sanskrit from Agra University.  Satyanarayana Dasa is the director of The Jiva Institute of Vaishnava Studies in Vrindavan, India (www.jiva.org). His main focus has been on the works of Jīva Gosvāmī, particularly on translating the Ṣaṭ Sandarbha into English and commenting on them.

The volumes should be well received by scholars and students of Vedānta and other philosophies, religion, Oriental Studies, Vaiṣṇavas and general public, because fundamental existential issues are analysed and uniquely presented in the Ṣaṭ Sandarbha.

The presentation will be in English with translation into Lithuanian.
